OUR STORY

Classic Coach Works began its journey with John Olsen in Salinas in the '70s and moved to its current location in the early '80s.  Little by little the business grew and eventually took over the majority of the 1920 built building.

Joe Beale comes from a small town in Southern Maryland, Loveville. At age 18 Joe joined the Army.  At the end of his service he found himself at Fort Ord and when he completed his service, he called the Monterey peninsula home.  In the early '90s Joe began apprenticing under Gusav Ulc at the Autohaus in Pacific Grove.

John Olsen recruited Joe in 2001. Joe quickly became the lead mechanic and by 2010 Joe had modernized the business and gained ownership.  In 2013 Joe bought the remainder of the business from John and has been providing quality repairs, modern European and Exotic vehicle maintenance ever since.

TESTIMONIALS

This is an immaculate, well managed, high end, specialty auto garage. They service exotic, performance, and luxury automobiles. Joe makes a great effort to properly diagnose and service delicate cars that may be difficult for other shops in town. He offers premium parts and service for premium automobiles. His dedicated team also repair cars - so if you drive one of those and live nearby, he can take care of you as well. I appreciate his candor and diagnostic savvy when I've got a difficult to diagnose issue. He can get to the truth without spinning my wheels like a dealership service department. Thumbs up!

Great shop!!! Joe took in my old scrappy BMW 5 series and put it up between an Aston Martin and a Bentley. They explained all the work performed and identified several critical issues and why they recommended further service. I was ultimately charged for 2 hours of labor when they worked on it for easily 5 to 6. Lots of parts already in stock; fast and professional service. Nice to know I have a shop in Monterey I can trust!!!

Joe has a vast knowledge of all types of automobiles and his prices are reasonable for the area. He takes great pains to fix things right the first time and will not do work that is unnecessary. I can't say the same about some other shops in the area.
